Biography

Amiri Harewood is currently an undergraduate at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Danny Driver, and has been awarded the Ann Driver Trust Scholarship. He is also a member of the Young Classical Artists Trust, and is the winner of the Kerr Memorial Prize for an Outstanding Pianist of Promise at the 2024 Royal Overseas League Competition.

Amiri regularly performs across the UK and abroad; with previous engagements including solo recitals at prestigious venues such as Steinway Hall, St-Martin in the Fields, and the Royal Albert Hall (as a part of the Steinway Young Artist series).

Amiri's Southbank Centre debut with Chineke! Orchestra was universally acclaimed, and described as a "Royal Festival Hall debut with considerable panache" (Richard Fairman). He was also selected as one of the first Tabor Piano Ambassadors for the prestigious Leeds Piano Competition; where he continues to work to deliver education and outreach initiatives.

Most recently, Amiri won the Kerr Memorial Prize for an Outstanding Pianist of Promise at the 2024 Royal Overseas League Competition.
