Chloé Piano Trio
So inspiring, youthful, vigorous. Extremely interesting programme, played with great enthusiasm and understanding. The interaction between the players was particularly enjoyable. Each work was extremely well presented and enlightening.
An outstanding ensemble, not only for its very high standard of ensemble playing, but also because it brings together three top-rate instrumentalists and equally sensitive, intelligent and dedicated musicians. Their enthusiasm and dedication for music results in probing interpretations of not only mainstream repertoire, but also of lesson known works which deserve more recognition.

Biography
The Chloé Piano Trio, winners of the Royal Philharmonic Society Henderson Prize 2021, was formed in 2017 by talented emerging musicians at the Royal College of Music, London. They have performed across the UK and abroad (France, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands), including at London venues such as the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, Charlton House, Royal Academy of Arts, Champs Hill (Sussex), the Romanian Cultural Institute in London, Austrian Cultural Forum, Lichfield Festival, Banstead Arts Festival and Hargrave Festival. This spring they performed in Wigmore Hall as finalists in the Parkhouse Award competition. Furthermore, they recently curated & organised the first edition of the ‘Chloé Festival’, a three day event in Greenwich, centered around women composers & artists.
In February 2022 they were selected as Kirckman Trust Young Artists and they recently performed their debut-concert at Kings Place in London in December 2023. Other notable appearances include performing for HRH King Charles during his President Visit at the Royal College of Music in March 2020 and at Castle Eerden for the Dutch National Instrument Foundation Festival in 2021. Upcoming concerts include the Beethoven Tripel Concerto with the Dutch ‘Ad Hoc Orchestra’ in Utrecht and recitals for HHH Concerts series and King’s Lynn Festival.
In April 2018 the Chloé Piano Trio, at the time known as the Daphnis Trio, was nominated by the RCM for the Birmingham Intercollegiate Piano Trio Competition and won the Third Prize. The repertoire of the trio ranges from Baroque and Classical periods to the modern and newly commissioned music. They are also highly interested in the performance of works written by women composers, having already recorded Trios by Clara Schumann and Rebecca Clarke as well as Lili Boulanger’s “D’un Soir Triste” and “D’un Matin Du Printemps” at Abbey Road Studios.
Both Maria and Jobine are grateful to be playing on beautiful string instruments and bows on loan to them from the Dutch National Instrument Foundation.
