Repertoire
Christopher's extensive solo recital repertoire and concerto repertoire spans all generations of music, from the Baroque and Classical greats through to the present day. Many themed programmes have proved popular over the years, and repertoire is is always open to discussion and suggestion.

Biography
Scottish Pianist Christopher Baxter is in constant demand as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician, and recent performances include recitals throughout the UK, including the Royal Festival, Wigmore and Usher Halls, performances at the Latour and Uzerche Festivals in France, the Alba Festival in Italy, a tour of the Faroe Islands, a solo recital at the Erin Arts Centre on the Isle of Man and recitals in South Korea, China and Singapore. His broad repertoire spans from the Baroque through to the present day, including many contemporary works and specially commissioned works.
Christopher has many long standing chamber music partnerships, and as a keen advocate of contemporary music, has been involved in premiere performances of more than 30 works, as well as appearing on numerous BBC Radio and Television broadcasts. Christopher has been accompanist for several international instrumental competitions and masterclasses with esteemed musicians, and between 2009 and 2010 held the position of Accompaniment Fellow at the RSAMD, where he was awarded the annual Accompaniment Prize.
Originally from Aberdeen, Christopher studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, completing his BMus (with 1st Class Honours) and MMus (Distinction), where he was tutored by Aaron Shorr, Graeme McNaught and Fali Pavri, as well as receiving regular coaching from the renowned pianist Nigel Clayton. In addition to success in most competitions and regular concert appearances within the RSAMD, Christopher participated in masterclasses with Roy Howat, Murray McLachlan, Hyoung-Joon Chang, Imre Rohmann, Malcolm Martineau, Roger Vignoles, Julius Drake and Martin Katz.
Christopher is the Staff Pianist at The University of Edinburgh, works regularly as an accompanist at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and is a teacher and accompanist at the specialist music school of Douglas Academy in Glasgow. He has given more than 200 performances as a pianist on the Live Music Now scheme and has also toured abroad extensively as a grade and diploma examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
