Biography

Rebekah Dickinson is a young British violist. Rebekah began learning the viola at the age of six with the Guernsey Music Service, before accepting a scholarship place to study with Matthew Souter and Roger Chase at Wells Cathedral School. In 2022, she graduated with First Class Honours from the Royal Academy of Music, London, where she had been studying with Paul Silverthorne. Rebekah is a keen orchestral and chamber musician, and was a member of the National Children’s Orchestras, National Youth Orchestra, and joined the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble for their performance at the Last night of the Proms 2016. She was invited to lead the viola section of the Mainzer Virtuosi at the Casalmaggiore Festival in 2017 and was a participant of the Hawaii Chamber Music Festival, as well has having performed for the Skye Chamber Music concert series. Rebekah is a strong advocate for the therapeutic and healing power of classical music, and the strength of music as a force for connection in a world ravaged by division.
