Biography

Sally Carr is a Scottish soprano, based in London. She has performed with groups including Chamber Choir Ireland, Dunedin Consort, St Martin’s Voices and Echo Vocal Ensemble. Recent solo performances include those as apprentice at the Southwell Music Festival and step-out solos with new upper-voices group Basilinda Consort. She is a regular deputy singer for several of London’s professional church choirs.

Sally was educated at the University of Edinburgh and Trinity Laban Conservatoire. She has benefitted from participation in development schemes such as Genesis Sixteen, Dunedin Consort’s Bridging the Gap and the year-long scholarship programme at St-Martin-in-the-Fields. She has been the recipient of both the Tovey Memorial (recital) Prize and the Janet Buckley Memorial (early music) prize promoted annually by the Reid School of Music. She was awarded the Kathleen Roberts scholarship for the duration of her postgraduate studies.

Calum Robertson is an Edinburgh-based clarinettist, organist and choral conductor. He is a former Live Music Now Scotland artist and graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). He freelances with various orchestras including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic and Opera North. Calum is a member of the wind quintet Sirocco Winds. As organist he is Assistant Director of Music at Old Saint Paul’s, and has been director of the Edinburgh University Singers since 2018.

Juliette Philogène is a French pianist born in Mauritius Island. She studied piano under Lilia Poustovoytova, Désiré N’Kaoua and Jonathan Plowright’s tutelage, graduating from the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris and RCS. Philogène made her Wigmore Hall debut in October 2012 and has played at the Usher Hall, Wales Millenium Centre, Paxton Festival, Harrogate Festival, Edinburgh Festival and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall amongst others in the UK. She has enjoyed traveling to Belgium, Malta, Bulgaria, Mauritius to perform chamber music with longstanding duo partners and cherished her work in Mumbai with the Mehli Mehta Foundation and directors from La Palau de la Musica Barcelona.
