Biography
Trio Sonorité has performed in concert halls and music series across the UK establishing itself as one of the most exciting chamber music ensembles with a very distinct sound. They were featured several times on Women’s Radio Station with Stefania Passamonte, as part of Classic Women Future Awards.
As well as traditional repertoire, the Trio also performs works by 20th and 21st century composers, which includes female composers, contemporary and past.
In 2023 Trio Sonorité were artist in residence with Illuminate Women’s Music for which they performed at venues including International Anthony Burgess Foundation in Manchester, University of Birmingham Elgar Concert Hall, and Southwell Minster receiving a glowing review from Paul Conway in Musical Opinion magazine. They collaborated with composers Angela Slater, Sylvia Lim, Kristina Arakelyan, and Vinthya Perinpanathan who wrote for the Trio, and also performed works by Stephanie Ann Boyd, Errollyn Wallen, Diana Čemerytė, and Louise Farrenc.
The Trio enjoys many cross-arts collaborations including the Baltic Art Form dance and music World Premiere performance “Invisible Effect’’ at London’s Pleasance Theatre, composed by renowned Latvian composer Platon Buravicky and choreographed by Kirill Burlov. The show featured Swedish guest soprano Nina Kopparhed and contemporary dancers from around the world.
In 2020 the Trio took part in a number of multimedia projects funded by Help Musicians Scotland and Lithuanian Council for Culture. They premiered PRS Scottish resident composer's Rūta Vitkauskaitė's work “Edge of Time" in a livestream recital from 1901 Arts Club.
In 2021 they performed the audio-visual work “Bright” at the Mall Galleries in London followed by an album recording in collaboration with Lithuanian National Radio and Television of “The Music Shell” which they performed across Lithuania as part of the Kaunas 2022 European Capital of Culture festival.
The Trio recorded “Aurora Dances”, for Anthony Esland's album “Playing Outside”. Upcoming engagements include performances at Music in the Mearns, recordings for Illuminate Women’s Music and composer Stewart Lane, radio appearances and recitals at Blackheath Halls, Harrow Summer Music Festival, National Musicians’ Church London, and a return performance in the award-winning concert series at the St. Mary’s Perivale in London. Trio Sonorité will perform “The Music Shell” at the JW3 Jewish Culture Centre in November.
