Ambassador
Chamber Music Scotland is delighted to have world-class Scottish percussionist Colin Currie as our inaugural Ambassador for 2022-24. The Ambassador will work with CMS over a two-year period to promote and develop the Scottish chamber music industry. Colin, who has enjoyed an acclaimed international career as a soloist and chamber musician, is looking forward to working with CMS to support the chamber music industry at home.
I am delighted to be appointed Ambassador for Chamber Music Scotland. Since my return to live in Scotland in 2019, I have been looking for the right institution to partner with to take forward my goals for growing a diverse and vibrant ‘chamber community’ at home. This must thrive on partnership and outreach, alongside the presentation of ambitious and rewarding concerts in a range of venues and locations. With their network for education and deep reach into all areas of our society, I look forward to being part of a freshly devised and meaningful development of chamber music across the country, with as wide and enticing a programme as possible. The quality of what we bring to our population is paramount, and I relish this chance to curate a far-reaching series that will excite and stimulate the ears, minds and hearts of every listener we reach.
