Ensemble in Residence
Our 2022-24 Ensemble in Residence is Dopey Monkey.
Created by Danielle Price and Martin Lee Thomson in 2015, Dopey Monkey are a tuba and euphonium duo known for their diverse and innovative new music. Drawing upon their varied experiences with jazz, folk, classical, and experimental music, they are passionate about showcasing the versatility of their instruments with original performances and cross-arts projects.
Dopey Monkey are excited to find ways of further sharing their work, both in Scotland and internationally, as CMS’s Ensemble in Residence 2022-24.
We believe that there is a space within the chamber music sector for the playful and experimental. As an ensemble, we feel that we align well with CMS’s exploration of what chamber music is, who it is for, and what it can be.
