Projects
Coorie Doon
Coorie Doon is a very special project where our Creative Team of a composer, a poet, and musicians work with families to create a song for their baby.
Beginning in 2015, there have been three iterations of the project so far:
North Edinburgh Arts Centre
The creative team worked with new and expectant mums from Muirhouse, Edinburgh, to compose a song for their child. Delivered in partnership with Circle Scotland, Bumpstart Pregnancy Support, and North Edinburgh Arts Centre.
Rachel House Children’s Hospice
A second version of Coorie Doon was delivered at Rachel House Children’s Hospice in Kinross. The creative team worked with families to create a song for their child being cared for at the hospice.
Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow
In our most recent Coorie Doon the project took place at the Neonatal Unit of the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow, in partnership with HUG (Helping Us Grow). Over six weeks, the creative team worked with families on the Unit to write a song for their prematurely born babies. The project is in memory of Robyn, the daughter of Jo and Katie, two musician friends of Chamber Music Scotland.
